In 2023, 47 ERFPO petitions were filed statewide, including 30 in Bernalillo County, according to data published by the Administrative Office of the Courts. The women – aged when they shot the videos – were also assured the videos would never appear online. Weeks after they returned home, the videos were released in full on Pratt’s subscription site, and as clips on PornHub and other popular free porn platforms. Dozens of victims had gathered at San Diego’s James M. Carter and Judith N. Keep Courthouse to speak at the sentencing hearing when they were told that Pratt was in federal custody.

It remains to be seen whether MindGeek will be held responsible for all of the damage their business practices has inflicted on these exploited women. Judge Enright awarded the 22 women $9.48m in compensatory damages and $3.3m in punitive damages. On the day of the shoot, models were often given alcohol and cannabis before being asked to sign an eight-page contract. Despite those promises, the court said, GirlsDoPorn did exactly the opposite — publishing the videos on their paid subscription websites and posting some to popular free pornographic websites.

The indictment against those involved in the conspiracy was unsealed in 2019 at the same time they were fighting a Superior Court lawsuit filed by 22 women. The judge in that case found in favor of the women and handed down a $12.7 million judgment against Pratt, Wolfe, adult performer Ruben Andre Garcia and various business interests connected to Pratt. Pornhub continued to host Girls Do Porn videos even after victims started to come forward and be covered in the press in 2019, and the suit alleged the site still hasn’t managed to boot all the videos off its service.

To dispel doubts, Pratt paid other young women, including Moser, to “act as references or provide false assurances to the women that, if they filed a video, the video would not be posted online,” court records show. In addition to not being told they’d be online, the group informed the women that they would remain anonymous in the videos, according to court records. Pratt is accused of working with four people − Matthew Wolfe, Ruben Garcia, Valorie Moser, and Theodore Gyi − to “recruit young adult women to engage in commercial sex acts by fraud and coercion,” according to court documents. After they had participated in the film shoot, the women alleged they were horrified to discover that the final product had been posted on tube websites such as Pornhub. After they approached Girls Do Porn to try to take the content down, the women say, they were subject to an extended harassment campaign, in which Girls Do Porn producers would contact their friends and family to ensure they saw the videos.
