Tale
After living on the outskirts of London, Rona tries to come to terms with her troubled past. Hoping for a cure, he returns to the wild beauty of the Scottish Orkney Islands where he grew up. At one point, Rona mentions seeing the International Space Station fly overhead.
Rona: I can’t be happy sober
This would not be possible in Orkney as the ISS never orbits further north than southern England. This incident is also mentioned in the book, so it is believed that the author saw another bright satellite. One with the Wind was composed by John Gürtler and Jan Miserre.
It wasn’t an easy role, but the challenge of taking on such a character was definitely too much to pass up, and I’m really glad he took it on
I give it a rating of 8/10 From start to finish this film is tough, beautiful and exciting, thanks to everyone who worked on this film, Saoirse Ronan is nothing short of brilliant, her performance is perfect and keeps you glued to the screen. . Nora Fingscheid gives us a horrifying yet soothing look into the world of an alcoholic and the ups and downs, the dark side of addiction, the brutal damage and the backdrop of London and Scotland, life is hard.
For this you have to invest quite a bit of yourself
But there is so much beauty in the landscape, even more so in the Orkney Islands in Scotland. Amy Liptrot’s screenplay, based on her novel, is raw and doesn’t hide things at all, Nora Fingscheid and Daisy Lewis also do their bit, and it’s well supported by the excellent Ronan, Stephen Dylan, Saskia Reeves and Papa Essiedu. This film is another one that was much better than I expected, a true gem of British cinema.
